Report about the collaborative training/ formative session entitled: “The standards of the scientific methodology in writing research papers


Ibn Ghazi center for research and strategic studies in partnership with the scientific and educational research laboratory in the Mediterranean world of the regional center of teaching and formation professions in Meknes organized a formative workshop about “The scientific research methodology: its standards, conditions, and stages”. The event took place on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015, and it was supervised and conducted by Dr. Mohammed Rafie, a professor of Maqassid and OussoulFiqh (purposes and principles of jurisprudence) at the University of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah in Fez.

The first speech was given by Dr. DrissMakboul, the director of Ibn Ghazi research center, who

talked about the context of the session and the importance of its topic. After that the floor

wastaken by Dr. AzzedineEnnamli, the vice director of the regional center of teaching and formation professions in Meknes, then Dr. Hassan Boukbir the coordinator of the department of Islamic studies in the regional center. The formative session witnessed an outstanding and varied attendance of almost two hundred teacher trainees, and researchers, and saw an interaction with the contents of the formative presentation outlined in three major sections.
Dr. Mohammed Rafie referred to the importance of the scientific research and its necessity, the teacher trainer then focused, in the first sections, on the general standards of the scientific research, such as the worshipful standard, the problematic standard, the strategic standard, the priority standard, and the realistic standard. He, then, moved in the second section to talk about the methodological conditions of the scientific research, determining their landmarks in the necessity of choosing the field of knowledge, the scientific, linguistic, methodological, and educational qualifications, the scientific value of the research, and the designed plan of the research paper. Dr. Rafie concluded by showing the stages of scientific research which start from collecting and building the bibliography and references through reading and skimming, the scientific report, the study and composition, the conclusion, the discussion, and the scientific output.
The content of the formative presentation saw an interaction from the attendance, and a fruitful debate which enriched the sections of the presentation and distinguished its horizons. The session finally ended with the distribution of certificates of participation
